Coniogramme emeiensis ‘Golden Zebra’ is a rare and visually striking fern native to East Asia, particularly China’s Mount Emei region. Belonging to the Pteridaceae family, this deciduous fern is prized for its ornamental foliage — long, arching fronds decorated with vivid golden-yellow stripes that run parallel along each leaflet, resembling zebra stripes.
It grows well in shaded or semi-shaded areas with consistently moist, well-draining soil. The plant prefers high humidity and protection from direct sun, making it ideal for woodland gardens, shaded borders, or as a potted specimen indoors. With a typical height of 30–60 cm, it adds texture and tropical charm to any green space.
Though not commonly found in mainstream nurseries, Golden Zebra is a collector’s favorite and adds a touch of the exotic to fern collections and landscape designs.
